Seasons
Our lives, when retold, are often grossly simplified.
They become shaped by the stories others tell about us–and by how we behave around them in turn. A collection of assumptions and averages. When viewed from a distance, our life might look like a set of data points, trending in a particular direction.
But, if you’re human, you know this isn’t the whole story–nor is it a life you’d want to live. To flatten our experience into a trend is to drain the joy out of life. We need the winters to appreciate the summers, and vice versa.
Life is cyclical, ever-changing, and always returning to itself.
So in your efforts to weather the storm, don’t forget to embrace the season.
